The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps
Hole in the Wall Camps are designed to create positive recreational experiences where children with serious illnesses are understood and accepted. The camps are fully inclusive with accessible and adaptive programs and activities so that all children can participate. Because Hole in the Wall Camps give children the chance to do things they never imagined possible due to the complexity of their medical needs, kids soar at camp – building independence, gaining self-confidence, and enhancing their coping skills and resilience.
Since 1988, the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps has served over 337,500 children and families and continues to expand and develop new camps and programs around the world. The Hole in the Wall Camp model is based on a set of standards that are designed to ensure the highest level of safety, programming and financial sustainability at all the camps. The Association provides future camps with program and site development consultations, goal-setting meetings, staff training, and opportunities to share best practices.
Roundup River Ranch is privileged to be a provisional member of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, and continues to work toward meeting the set of requirements that will allow us to apply for full membership in Fall 2011. These requirements are designed to ensure the highest level of safety, programming and financial sustainability at our camp.
